Prime Time Definitions

Abundant Number: a number that all the proper factors add up more than the number.

Deficient Number: a number that all its proper factors are less than the number.

Perfect Number: a number that all its proper factors add up to the original number.

Divisor: a number that has no remainder when you divide it. For example, 6 is a divisor of 30 because it has no remainder when you divide.

Common Factor: a number that is a factor of two different numbers.

Common Multiple: a number that is a multiple of two different numbers.

Composite Number: has two or more factor pairs.

Even Number: ends in a 0, 2, 4, 6, or an 8 and is divisible by 2.

Odd Number: ends in a 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9. and is not divisible by 2.

Exponent: a scientific notation that shortens up a number sentence.

Factor: One of two numbers that are multipled to get another number. Factor x Factor = Multiple (Product)

Multiple: A number that contains other numbers as its factors.

Prime Factorization: The longest factor string for a whole number.

Prime Number: has only one and itself as its factors.

Proper Factors: all the factors of a number except itself.

Realitively Prime: A number with no common factors except one.
